Your answer was golden my friend, nothing wrong with the language you used, thank you for it! I would not have guessed you did not speak English natively.

not disappointed, but downvote brigades on actual discussion were a serious problem on reddit, I would hate to see it carry over here, you can discuss something even if you disagree. You shouldn’t downvote good faith discussion or questions, but maybe we fundamentally disagree on the point of up/down voting.
If you don’t come to read the discourse, why come to the comments my friend?

Dang, was asking a question and discussing the way it has been presented to me and got buried, great discussion guys! Feeling like I’m back at home at Reddit :)

Is the Guardian mainstream? I thought it was often derided as being fringe or a tabloid in the UK (this also may of been an effort to misinform, as I typically find myself agreeing with their articles, or at the least the ones I am presented with)
For managed democracy.
Kind of hits different written under this image…

Yup see palworld!

Also I feel like Nintendo is losing its stranglehold on really good games in their own niche of wimsical platformers that are accessible and fun, but still provide some challenge if you seek it out.
See Astrobot. Hoping for more games in this same vein because its a winner.

oh yeah, give me a good flip and burn baby, PDCs at 20%.
I need some juice.
I read all the books and the comics (+ shows), its one of my favorite works of fiction, which is where my caution comes from.

gameplay kind of reminds me of the Division/Division 2, which could be promising - curious to how the space flight works out.
Cautiously optimistic.

agreed, although my concern is that the proportion of users to bots may be much higher than expected (like shwitter).
How much are advertisers willing to pay to advertise to bots? Not much I’m guessing, I envision lies.

I wonder if we will actually ever see the true numbers, I have a feeling they will realize that SOOOOOOOOOOO many of the users are bots and be forced to pull a shwitter.
We will see what happens, but I won’t hold my breath for actual transparency.

Honestly this is exactly like the united states, thats why I used a weighted average tax - the taxes can be different county by county, although usually not by more than 3%…

glad to hear they are so beloved, I think an unpolished full release is a cash grab, as first impressions are important, but we can disagree on that point.

thats good to know, it definitely looks like the worst project they are associated with, I’ll note that its published by.

Interesting that they would bother making the game with that perspective on the financial side, but we can agree to disagree.
I’ll maintain cautious optimism but the video game industry has definitely let me down plenty of times, and companies have ruined their reputation for a mere pittance - does not mean anyone will do it on purpose, just that making video games is difficult.

That is comforting to hear about the studio, the Expanse Dragon’s tooth earned 1.4 million with 12k backers on kick starter, and that was in my opinion with little marketing, seems like enough for a cash grab to me!

I looked up Owlcat games, agree their previous projects seem to be liked, but this project looks VASTLY different from what they have made previously, I’ll keep my hopes up though.
Also, see their recent release “Rue Valley”… (Apparently they were only the publisher, which is better… but they still put their name on it)

I’m hyped because I love the source material, but worried this is just going to be a cash grab from loyal fans… Seeing as the comic books exceeded their funding threshold by a large margin, I could see other industries trying to cash in as well.
Hopefully this is a well thought out quality game, has anyone done any playtesting who wants to talk about it?

I was under the impression Canada included sales tax in their pricing since usually people from the US are mocked for not having tax on their prices, the more you know!

Oh I thought Canada would have it included, interesting!
Nah I don’t bait, I’m a real person but from another country so the Guardian is not a news source I grew up with, except when they had an article that filtered its way down, which was uncommon. Mostly only ever saw it on Reddit or other places, and it is often disparaged when posted, or at least it used to be, so I was asking what the general consensus was on the paper.
I also thought it was interesting to note that in the USA it is typically disparaged and viewed poorly, or presented poorly, to people, probably do to its left of center alignment, which in the USA would be considered farrrr left (sad I know).
Either way, I think that downvoting discourse unless someone says something that is really obviously a troll (3.50, cumbox, creepypasta, just being an asshole), is a dumb thing to do. It is a hallmark of my experience on reddit and I thought this was a place where real discourse could happen.
I believe that calling out poor practices with upvote/downvote is a way to consider what kind of culture we have here, and want to build, as the community expands.
I came from original Digg to Reddit now to Piefed, so I have watched the ways the culture has grown and expanded on these communities, in the past I just watched and said nothing. This time I feel compelled to be a part of the discussion because I watched both Reddit and Digg go to shit.
