I’m in Taiwan and I know Steam doesn’t let you make a purchase without a local credit card. So I imagine that’s the case for Japan.

jaschen@lemm.eeto Games@lemmy.world•Nintendo reserves the right to brick your console following "unauthorised use", in bid to prevent piracyEnglish65·2 months agoSo a few years ago I wanted to play a Japanese version of a rhythm game that isn’t available to purchase in the USA and decided to try my hand at modding my switch for this one game.
After(poorly) doing it, I wasn’t able to play that game AND Nintendo bricked me. All my games on my switch that I purchased were unable to download or play anymore.
So I went and set out to mod my switch correctly.
Now if I actually wanted to give Nintendo money, they won’t allow me to. So my only option from then on is to pirate.
They basically turned a potentially paying customer to a non paying customer.

I literally record every work conversation so I can go back to it when I zone out.
I even record my personal conversations. After Samsung added AI transcriptions, I have become a better person.
Invites all around! Remind me in 20 years.

Hey brother. Preach! Building a Voron sounds fun. I would too if I’m interested in tinkering with a printer. But I’m more interested in tinkering with other projects.

In the past most of the cheaper printers didnt have bed levelers anyways. It’s always the paper method.
I installed 9x9 BLtouch for all my printers which helped a bunch, but when you’re printing 16 hours a day, the build up on the bed requires that I relevel the bed.
I really hope you’re right. It was pretty hell back then.
Even when diagnosed with medicine, I sometimes struggle to remember to eat it.
jaschen@lemm.eeto 3DPrinting@lemmy.world•Bambu's Gaslighting Masterclass: Denying their own documented restrictionsEnglish1·5 months agoI used to run a small print farm during COVID. I learned to hate fixing my printers. I never want to worry about leveling my beds or account for print vibration or worry about bed buildup or even look at my printer outside of the standard maintenance. I just want to print. Lol.
The Anker looks interesting. I think if I was in the market for a Cartesian style printer, I would pay the 100 bucks more and pick up a Prusa MK4S instead.
jaschen@lemm.eeto 3DPrinting@lemmy.world•Bambu's Gaslighting Masterclass: Denying their own documented restrictionsEnglish1·5 months agoLooks like the Creality K1 has lidar tech but it’s super loud and the quality is pretty bad compared to the X1c.
I hope someone picks up the slack and gives us a worthy alternative.
jaschen@lemm.eeto 3DPrinting@lemmy.world•Bambu's Gaslighting Masterclass: Denying their own documented restrictionsEnglish4·6 months agoTinkerer that hasn’t had a 3D printer for a few years now. Thought about going back in and buying a printer and the carbon x1 was on the top of my list. Previously I had creality XY printers.
Should I avoid Bambu now? The lidar and the click and print is what really draws me. I don’t want to be a tinkerer AND a printer engineer, but I also don’t support companies that mess with their customers like this.
Does anyone recommend another solution?
I’m pretty good at making money tho. I’m even good at investing. But paying a simple bill requires 2 doses of Ritalin
