And then right after that I explain how that solved nothing because they just poked holes in the legislation.

21·5 hours agoMatrix is not trash, you are just not understanding it’s intended application. This ain’t it. It’s intended for commercial use. Where security is a high priority.
definitely a step up from the free market “the consumers decide” crap that isn’t actually yielding any results.
😂 In what way? Getting govts to crack down on it hasn’t solved anything either. If you’re ever able to actually get anything passed, the companies just play this stupid game of malicious compliance and then the govts call it a day and move on.
The “free market crap” doesn’t work if enough people don’t pitch in. Look how quickly we solved the Jimmy Kimmel situation by voting with our wallets. Less than a week. Can you even fathom a govt that efficient?
You seem to be presenting a false dichotomy. You don’t have to choose. You can do both. But voting with your wallet is the fastest, most effective, and most permanent, when actually implemented.

2·5 hours agoI had several things that brushed me off hard from usability and UI.
And you still will. I tried to get my community of 200 users to switch and the only response I got was “why?”. And not a single person joined. But good luck.
But there’s no sense asking here. Just sign up with a public server and join some communities and see for yourself.
Indeed. What would you suggest?
It is 100% effective. The fact that it’s not working indicates that they’re not doing it. They’re not going to keep doing this without a viable path to profitability.
They aren’t. That’s precisely my point.
No they aren’t. If they were, it would be working.
LOL no that’s MY point. Neither of them are working because no one is doing either of them.

1·9 hours agoOk, not good advice
I…disagree?
You ignored the main questions I had
…I didn’t ignore them, I just wasn’t trying to answer them.
Also 4k players for PC’s are fucked and have tons of issues.
Been using them for years, no idea what you mean.
How is banning Denuvo working?

21·3 days agoLook around on your local classifieds. Anything you find there should be better than an Xbox. Put Bazzite on it and you got the console experience.
Honestly, the world has so many much bigger problems.
If gamers really want it gone they’ll do what I do and vote with their wallet. We’ve already seen some ramifications of that, with publishers sometimes removing it after just a few months or a year.

10·4 days agoExactly. And we saw people doing that with the Steam Deck. Disney was using it to control their robots. Ukraine was using them to control IRL turrets. That’s just what we know of.

212·4 days ago“I think Valve was hoping for a much lower price and that the component issue would be short-term,” Cole said. “Obviously it is looking more like a long-term issue.”
I think we all knew this would be a long term issue.
Something happened over time, and I think it coincided with the rise of Donald Trump and the emergence of Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok as the social media platforms of choice. A lot of people just stopped bothering to defend their ideas against people who disagree with them. The arguments dried up.
It’s because we’ve realized these people are a completely lost cause.
The rise of these platforms increased the ability of politicians’ ability to disinform and manipulate people ten fold.

But…it is.
