Battlefield 2142 had that, don’t know it that was the first one to do that though. Might’ve been BF2.

44·1 year agoWho turned out to be gay in Picard but Berman didn’t have anything to do with that I believe.

Metalheads are generally just nice people cosplaying as mean people. No nice person dislikes a kitty.
Not a Steamdeck or PC user but it works just fine on console with a controller.

Europe@feddit.de•Europe is not prepared for rapidly growing climate risksEnglish
1·2 years agoBoth human and non-human animals of course I assume? The current ones obviously. Life in general will probably be fine, it’s just the specific types of life currently inhabiting earth that are going to have a bit of trouble.
Good news for whatever gets the chance to climb to the top of the heap once mammals are gone. My money’s fungi but that’s mostly because I like Orks.

212·2 years agoYes, them too of course but others will probably thrive. The planet has been through worse times than these (see: dinosaurs). It’s a big rock and it won’t collapse because we’re fucking with it.
It’s habitability that’s the real problem.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•When you're writing a song, how do you know it isn't just a song you've heard before but don't recognise?
34·2 years agoSimilar story with Yesterday by the Beatles. Paul McCartney was convinced he had unconsciously plagiarized the song after he’d supposedly heard it in a dream.
We gave our elderly cat ‘cat milk’ from the pet food isle as a treat and she loved it. I suppose it’s lactose free or something and it was a great way to get her to take her meds.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What kind of a gift can you give your teacher out of respect, but that doesn’t get mistaken for romance?
6·2 years agoNot a teacher (but I work with people that sometimes want to give me gifts when we say goodbye) and I agree, card or a letter is great!
Either that or something I can share with my colleagues (chocolate, assorted sweets).

I’ve been thinking that since the original Quake came out… there’s always room for improvement!

Games@sh.itjust.works•Sony misses PS5 sales target as console enters ‘latter stage of its life cycle’English
19·2 years agoI know what you mean and I think it’s because it had a rocky start. This generation of consoles was plagued by availability issues due to the chip shortage which made the transition period from the ps4 to ps5 a drawn out affair.
The Fender Tune app is pretty useful. It has a tuner, metronome and you can look up scales and chords. It’s also free.
This is a great move generally. I’ve never bought a new car in my life and I generally buy other expensive stuff used as well. I’ve only ever bought a couple of new guitars for example and I’ve found it’s not worth the upcharge over used.
Boardgames and video games are nice to have new but most of the time the people I buy them from have been super careful with their stuff so you hardly notice it’s been used.
Same thing with clothes. People buy so much shit that they hardly (if ever) wear it before selling it on. I’ve bought Chucks with the tags still on for half of what they’re sold for in retail. Same thing with jeans.
Also it’s generally better for the environment to buy used.

You mean RTS games? Warcraft is from ‘94, two years after Dune 2 was released.
