Dude knows how to manage people and balance a budget. Sure he might occasionally get obsessed with some treasure in the middle east but that’s no different than most presidents.
I only got infected once that I know of. I had trouble reading from a floppy disk and so I set scandisk running on it and went to get some lunch. When I came back there had been a short power out and when it came back on my machine had rebooted with the disk in it which ran on startup and infected the machine. Thankfully it was non-destructive and I was able to clean it out with tools I had on another machine.
Same here, it’s less about the month to month technical changes and waaay more about general policy and major development decisions.

All I could think was how fun it would be to run into that nice soft quilt. So I tried, and like the dumbest cartoon character my head bounced off it after smacking into the metal table right behind it.
At least there was no permanent damage, or so my imaginary therapist tells me.
I don’t think Lemmy is too confusing to use but I do think it’s poorly explained. Most people new to a server are only looking at two things:
- Overall content on the front page and how effective its filtering is.
- A topic specific community they are interested in.
But when they begin see the content can be vastly different from server to server and the topics they care about can be split into many communities on different servers they aren’t sure how to access what they want and lose interest.

Nemoder@lemmy.mlto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Bad film with amazing premise and mediocre execution that you can't stop thinking about?12·1 month agoGranted it’s just the viewpoint of one of the prisoners but it’s the one I found most intriguing. To quote the movie: “Nobody knew what it was, nobody cared…there is no conspiracy, nobody is in charge. It’s a headless blunder operating under the illusion of a master plan…somebody might have known sometime before they got fired, voted out, or sold it…this is an accident, a forgotten perpetual public works project. You think anybody asked questions? All they want is a clear conscience and a fat paycheck.”

Most people saw it as an average horror movie where a bunch of people try to get out of a giant torture box. But there was a pivotal scene that stuck with me where one of the prisoners realizes he helped build part of it. The whole thing wasn’t some intentional torture device but just a bunch of people doing their day jobs that were lost in a bureaucracy not ever questioning what their work was creating.
A stark reflection of society and the systems we create and the dangers of not ever looking at the bigger picture.Of course they proceeded to shit all over this idea in Cube2 where it ended up being just another evil government experiment.
I’m not a musician but I recently stumbled across https://linuxmusicians.com/ which seems like a decent forum for people that are determined to make it work.

Sadly it is something far fewer people are willing to give up than any of the above.
They (probably) aren’t trying to be rude, they are just happy to have an answer they can give quickly and appear helpful. They are oblivious to existing conversations or the communication processing talents of others.

You can get the correct name for your device with: pacmd list-sinks

Agreed, but you still need a confirmation on the quit button to ask if you are sure you want to quit without saving.

Ocenaudio for audio editing. It’s not FOSS but it’s native, simple to use, and doesn’t have backend library issues I kept having with audacity.
