I think this is about as likely as other conspiracy theories: not at all.
We’re going to find out that he’s just a guy. Which is disheartening when we imagine someone coming along and saving us and setting right all the wrongs.
But also he’s just a guy. I’m not saying killing is the way forward, but he inspires the belief that we can change the world ourselves. We don’t just live in a world controlled by the rich or shadowy conspiracies; we live in a world where we can have an impact.
What??? But… I posted a disclaimer and license! How can they slap???
I mean… it’s a lot of money. Every day I had to put up with some bullshit—that’s most days—I’d be grumbling to myself about that fortune I’d have if only…
Why the fuck can’t we make things hot without the internet? FFS
Fire: “I got you, bro.”
I’m my observation, as a nearly-30-year-vet in the field, it’s due to the same factors as always. The technology doesn’t enforce the standard. So people do any fucking thing they want because they honestly don’t know any better.
I’m working on an app right now. On one of the controllers there is a single endpoint, out of about 30 (which should fucking tell you something right there) that conforms to restful standards. Every single other one of them is wrong. Because folks didn’t know better and leaders didn’t lead/teach/know any better themselves.
Nothing I enjoy more than asking a good ol’ boy his pronouns.
So what’s the pros and cons of Mint on Ubuntu vs Mint on Debian? I’m more familiar with Ubuntu, and that’s what I’m running on my PC now, but I’m thinking about trying to go back to Mint.
Main things I’ll need to install is development tools (VSCode, IntelliJ, docker, java) plus Firefox, Discord. I’m also running KDE Plasma - it’s nice, but also I don’t really have a strong opinion so if I wasn’t i wouldn’t care all that much. Nvidea graphics, AMD cpu.
I’m a bit frustrated by the weekly or so discord updates and it would be nice if auto update or apt upgrade would just update it, but maybe that’s a completely separate concern.
Anyway if you time to respond I appreciate it. If not that’s cool too. Have a good one!
You mean like we’ve suddenly achieved lower denial rates or single-payer healthcare? Nothing so grand, but people are talking and both sides of the political spectrum have found a semblance of unity over this—which is probably the biggest thing they don’t want to see, is people taking their eyes off the culture war and noticing the class war.
